This is a fantastic event that started in 2011 in response to media coverage of the Toxteth Riots and was aimed at making the area cleaner and greener whilst still having some fun. Now in its 7th year this is going to be the best one yet.
People living in and around the Lodge Lane area of Liverpool are being given an opportunity to show they love their neighbourhood at this special community event.

A wonderful couple Sian and Simon showed their love of everything Dr Who by having a Dr Who themed Wedding recently. It was fantastic when they got in touch because they had seen our Daleks at Southport Comic Con and asked if we could bring them along to surprise the guests.
We were delighted as Drik and Dred are both mobile and have ring modulators to speak and sound like a Dalek.
Well wisher, family and guests attended dressed as characters from the much loved sci-fi series. There were different incarnations of the Doctor himself everywhere and even a Cyberman.
As he was out exterminating the people of Southport when the upgrade was done to enable elevation up the stairs, Dread had to be carried down a few steps on arrival! Thankfully a few lovely guests helped as he is quite a big boy and weighs a bit.
We and the Daleks had a wonderful time and, so pleased were the happy couple Sian and Simon that they shared some of their wonderful memories from the day with us.
Get yourself down to our sister site at 16 Prince’s Street/corner of Market Street, Southport, PR8 1EZ and take part in a FREE COMMUNITY EVENT TODAY at 1pm -3pm.
We would really love to see you with your electric/electronic items. We are working with Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority to find ways of reducing Landfill, reusing precious materials and in turn save you money. Most electric/electronic items throw away are still in perfect working order or need a simple repair.
Do you have items sitting around that you are thinking of throwing away because they have brought a newer model out, you have more then one, you never got around to repair it – bring it along and we will PAT TEST them and discuss if it can be repaired, reused, repurposed or discuss ways of how to donate.
Is your toaster toast or your kettle run out of steam? Do you have old electrics/electronics lying around at home? From kettles to cameras, cameras to power drills, laptops to P.C’s. PLEASE DONT THROW THEM AWAY!
Makeitworkshop will carry out FREE PAT TESTS and check if your item is still useable. We can also discuss how to fix it.
There are many options available if you have unwanted or unused electrical/electronic items, donation to a worthy cause, taking the working parts of a broken item and finding another use, fixing it are just a few ideas.
We are running another Get It Going Again Event on FRIDAY 13th April between 1pm and 3pm. You can find us on the corner of Market Street and Princes Street (just off Eastbank Street). Check out the map for directions.
In the current climate when we are looking for ways to cut back and reduce our spending, this is a brilliant opportunity to help SAVE YOU MONEY and cut down on unnecessary waste going to the landfill.
