MakeItWorkShop’s resident Daleks Dread and Drik recently had 2 very special Vip invitations and were extremely excited.
Will Corfield and Nicola Oldham were celebrating a Whoovian themed wedding at the fabulous Lakeside Suite in Southport.
Sworn to their best behaviour not to exterminate anyone, Drik and Dread made their way along Lord Street towards the reception.
They did stop for a few Selfies on the way with a few shoppers wanting to say Hi.
Both the Bride and groom looked amazing and Bridesmaids were all dressed in Tardis blue.
The Bride and Groom were seated at the head table with their own Sonic Screwdrivers side by side. Dread and Drik were behind. This gave them a great vantage point to see all the guests and plot their demise if they misbehaved.
It was a family friendly Doctor Who wedding. They used blue as a key colour … which was completed with a beautiful Doctor Who cake topper – The Doctor and His Companion running. Decorated in Gallifreyian text – the language of the Time Lords. It looked amazing.
The Lakeside Suite was a perfect location overlooking the Marine Lake. The entrance was adorned with a River Song Journal as a Guest Book which the team signed on behalf of Drik and Dread. There were also small wooden hearts to write a message on and post into a picture frame. The Tardis blue theme carried into the blue chair sashes and napkin ties, and also had blue LEDs in the centre pieces
Thank you for a wonderful day Will and Nicola Oldham.
Dalek Drik (our 7ft gold Dalek) is available for hire and a quote on request can be provided. Dalek Dread (5ft Black Dalek) has returned to Skaro and isnt returning our calls at the moment.

VOLUNTEERING CAN HELP YOU, BUILD YOUR SKILLS, GAIN EXPERIENCE, MEET NEW PEOPLE, INCREASE SELF CONFIDENCE, MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY…”WE NEED YOU” COME ALONG AND VOLUNTEER😀
Educating new volunteers in our very many diverse projects. These range from vintage telephone repair, eBay sales, shop floor, Victorian eye-glass construction, and many more.
Working together as a team to raise funds that we invest in our local community. Bringing the community together.
We are looking for volunteers who can offer a minimum of 1 day per week. Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday 12 noon to 5pm.
A Social Enterprise ….. with a difference. Be Part of Us! We are a Community Interest Company* or Social Enterprise (a ‘not-for-profit’) based in Southport with a dedicated team of pro bono staff. contributing together to create an organisation with a difference: principally for the benefit of its immediate community. Through our collaboration with other similar organisations and charities. We. hope to share our values locally and where we can to provide assistance to communities elsewhere in the world.
From the MakeItWorkShop we sell all manner of things such as vintage and novelty telephones, electrical and other household goods, that we do not require directly for our other charitable work. All of this helps bring in the funds we need to pay our way, develop and help us grow, and especially to keep our Workshop open. We are independent, have no debt and have not looked outside for funding.
Our local community-based activities comprise various recycling and repair projects to provide a place were we hope we can promote skills transfer across several generations, allowing those of us with experience the chance to pass on our skills to others.
We are run entirely by volunteers and we reward our volunteers by investing in small individual projects run by our members, giving them in turn the opportunity to create and manage innovative projects. Our aim is to be as self-sustainable as possible by pulling together in support of each other, and of course for those that may follow us.
The materials we deal with are mainly recycled community donations and things that would otherwise be dumped into over-used landfill sites. On a national scale, we do not claim to be unique but we do believe ourselves to be the first of our kind in Southport.
Our premises are in the centre of town with retail, workshop and storage facilities. We have had wonderful support from local people and organisations and we are always looking for much more. Any help would be greatly appreciated along with ideas or suggestions as to how we can fulfil the potential of MakeItWorkShop for everyone involved.
We offer all manner of volunteering opportunities: in retail, DIY and developing online sales skills, mentoring/training, administration, finance and many others.

Well what a fabulous success it has been so far for our GIGA Events. We have been on the road since May this year. Our initial GIGA event started in November last year and we have gone from strength to strength. Our last event gave us 40 items to PAT TEST and repair. It’s wonderful to see how far we have come. We have also met some wonderful organisations and people.
Working alongside Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority has been mutually beneficial and we have saved numerous items from Landfill as well as saving people money.
We have our next event at the offices of Merseyside Recycling and Waste on Thursday 26th July between 11am and 2pm. We are really excited about this one.
Directions are above in the poster telling you how to get there by train, bus and car. The address is 7th Floor, No 1 Mann Island, Liverpool, L3 1BP.
We will be carrying out FREE PAT TESTING, and FREE repairs during the event. It’s been so satisfying knowing we are helping the environment and helping people.
We would love to see you at Mann Island.
We are on the road again.. this time we are taking our GIGA EVENT to Seacombe Library, WALLASEY. The address is 3 LISCARD ROAD, WALLASEY, CH44 6LT.

Do you have things gathering dust in the corner, you keep saying you will put it in the trash or have a go repairing. SAVE YOURSELF MONEY. Bring it down and we will check it out for you.
Working closely with Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority our ethos is repair, reuse, repurpose or donate. Keep it out the landfill.
This is a fantastic event that started in 2011 in response to media coverage of the Toxteth Riots and was aimed at making the area cleaner and greener whilst still having some fun. Now in its 7th year this is going to be the best one yet.
People living in and around the Lodge Lane area of Liverpool are being given an opportunity to show they love their neighbourhood at this special community event.
